Kyoto Private Tour Price

What a private tour of Kyoto costs: car days priced per group up to 6, walking guides per person, party-size ladders, the extras paid on the day, and the dates we read. Checked November 2026.

Updated November 2026

A private tour of Kyoto is priced in two ways: a day by car is one price for the whole group, and a walking guide is priced per person or by the size of your party. For two to six people, the price to beat is Senbon Tours’ Kyoto: Private Full-Day Highlights Tour by Vehicle with Guide, from US$392 for a group of up to 6 (checked November 2026). On the three dates we read, its one option cost US$460.64 for the group (checked November 2026): about US$230 each for two, US$115 each for four and US$77 each for six.

GetYourGuide from-prices for the whole group, checked November 2026. Each is priced for the whole group; on the two we read date by date, Senbon Tours’ and Alpha Tours Japan’s, the calendar offered no party-size choice at all.

The from-price on the card is not always what the calendar charges. On the three dates we read, Senbon Tours’ day showed one option at US$460.64. Alpha Tours Japan's showed US$454.33 on 27 November 2026, US$441.71 on 20 January 2027 and US$457.49 on 27 March 2027 for its standard vehicle, and US$536.36 for the Lexus option on all three (checked November 2026).

Map of Kyoto: Kinkaku-ji in the north-west, the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove in the west, Nishiki Market, Gion and Kiyomizu-dera by the Kamo River, Kyoto Station and Fushimi Inari Taisha to the south
Where the entrance fees fall on a private day: Kinkaku-ji and Arashiyama in the west, Kiyomizu-dera and Gion in the east, Fushimi Inari in the south.

Entrance fees are excluded on every GetYourGuide day above that mentions them (Kansai Holidays' does not say), while Scenic Japan Tour’s day on Viator includes two of them, Kinkaku-ji’s and Kiyomizu-dera’s. At the gate, an adult pays JPY 500 at Kinkaku-ji, JPY 1,000 at Ginkaku-ji and JPY 600 at Sanjusangen-do, and JPY 1,300 for the grounds and Ninomaru Palace at Nijo Castle (each site’s own page, checked November 2026). Sanjusangen-do adds that a guide entering on their own pays as well.

Other extras, each from its own listing:

Guide or driver covers what the extra money for a guide buys, and 4, 6 or 8 hours how long to book.
